WONDER IF I CAN FACE IT?

On Wednesday 12 October 2011, circa 6:10 am, I feel God asked me the question, "If there was no facebook what would you have done with that time?" My reply, "What time?" while updating my status on my iPhone ( a thing of remarkable beauty I may add), I jumped in my car and headed off to the Gym. Since then it's been playing on my mind; Just how much 'productive' time do I really spend on facebook, the answer was shamefully little indeed. I then did some mental calculation to see how much time I spend on FB, and I was truly embarrassed.

Facebook for me is an extremely useful tool in many ways, the primary ones being:-
1. For keeping in touch with family and friends.
2. I am a broadcaster and use it as a means of communication with listeners.
3. For sharing the Gospel.

However, I have made a drastic decision one which will be tough, but I will try, and that is to have a break from facebook effective from 1st November through 'til December 31st 2011.

That's crazy Roy I hear you say, 'Wouldn't it be better to curb the way you use facebook ?', Well this is true, but I just want to prove to myself that I can do without facebook, though it is a most wonderful and useful tool.

I may however resurface round about end of November 2011 for one day
i.e. my birthday 8)

In the meantime I would love if you'd follow me on twitter :-

THE RUNNING MAN

On Saturday 22nd October 2011, I ran in the PARKRUN 5Km Run, and though it was a painful experience during and also indeed after, it has been in recent years one of the most rewarding decisions I have made in a long while.

So what I hear you ask would posses a 95kg man to get up on Saturday morning to do a 5Km Run (Knowing full well that the only other run he has ever done in recent times is from the house to the car, when it's raining?).

Well i've been toying with the idea of doing Parkrun for months but always had an excuse; So on Friday night i found an extra bit of courage and registered,  with the premise of even walking the course if necessary.

My aim was to finish the race and a bonus would be to keep running; both of which I achieved. Not having done any running before I set myself a target of 35 minutes, but could only muster 39 Min on the day.

I must truly say that I have been bitten by the bug and is looking forward to running it again, hopefully i'll make some improvement ( I'll give it a good old go)
