New year blessings Part 2

Many messages tonight will be conveying that you need to prune off some old friends that drag you down as they can't follow you to your destiny. For the vast majority of people this is not a wise move as you could be left broken and lonely, unnecessarily as you get all hyped up and start to lob GOOD friends off left right and centre.

In everything prayer has to be the key.

It is true that not everyone can follow you into your destiny, and only those with a really clear focus should employ the direct pruning off method. The method which I favour is this, make your change prayerfully from within and those who are producing drag on your progress will automatically fall off as you become a slick destiny machine. If that doesn't happen then that is the time to employ the direct pruning method.

Despite my advise whatever you do let wisdom be your guide.

2011 can be a great year for you if you seek first the KINGDOM of Heaven (Matt 6:33), and be a blessing to others as you fulfil your purpose.

Have yourself a Splendiferous new year filled with answered prayers and fulfilled dreams.

New Year Blessings Part 1

The New year is a great time to embark on something new such as Gym, lose weight, giving up meat, becoming more caring, giving up smoking and the list goes on. This is an admirable thing to do as any change for the better is good, moreover any change indicate the presence of life so change is good.

However, I have a slight issue with attaching your efforts to the fact that the calendar has changed date, since the calendar does that every single day. Sure January first is a memorable date, but most resolutions grow weaker and weaker as the month of January goes on. This is why the Gym campaign for members intensify in January. You feel guilty for overindulgence make a crazy decision to enter a 12 month contract with the GYM turn up for one month and you know the rest. This is exactly what happens with all other resolution, Guilt followed by an unrealistic commitment.

Though the new year may work for some, believe me it will not work for the vast majority. Since Christ is a constant, I believe that the best way to seal your desires and realise your resolutions is to place them firmly in the Hands of GOD and NOT in the fact that it is a New Year.

My prayer is that you and yours will have a great new year, and that the very best of your 2010 becomes the very least of your 2011.

BROKEN SCALE - (Weight A Minute!)

Remember in my post dated  (Tuesday, November 16, 2010) I bought what I considered to be a good bathroom scale to keep consistent weight?  well it didn't live up to its claim cause I had to return it to Argos. The scale in question was the SALTER stainless steel body analyser scale (Argos 831/3892). First two weeks of having it all was good but then it just packed up, and by the way this was the second of its type I bought in the past five years. so I returned it and replaced it with a solid mechanical scale. ie just springs. No electronics or batteries to contend with. so my new scale is the EKS large doctors scale (Argos 830/3572).

So far all appears to be OK, will let you know how I get on. The disadvantage of this scale however is, I will not be able to do body, fat, muscle or water content, but I will continue on with just trying to shift the weight as I go. Eat less do more.

I will do a weigh in tomorrow and update you on my progress.

Talk soon

DO MORE EAT LESS - THE SECRET TO LOOSING WEIGHT

When I started on this quest to loose 50lb in 1 year I was under no illusions that it would be easy, furthermore when you take up these challenges all manner of obstacles present themselves.
We are now on Day 44 (Week 7) I am currently 201.2 lbs (as at Monday 13/12/10) this means that I am still ahead of my target. Shifting the weight is now becoming more and more difficult. In addition as of last Friday my working routine and as a result GYM attendance has changed. I will have to come up with some clever method of loosing weight in a controlled manner and yes I will keep you posted.
As it happen I haven’t worked out a grand plan as yet but it will include lots of walking, Exercise bike, Wii Fit and other floor exercises, hey I may even purchase an exercise ball. I have reduced both my calorie intake and cut down on fats and sugars. In future blogs it is my intention to share this data (food log) including the graph of my weight loss. You lucky people I may even show you some profile pictures of my belly, which I intend to craft into a tight six Pac (6PAC)
In closing the formula is as it always was do more and eat less.
As always I value your feedback, and indeed suggestions of things you have done or heard that a good methods of loosing weight.

Till next time see you

PROGRESS UPDATE!!

Ok I am now currently on day 36 (week 6) of losing round about 50lb (see earlier blogs) in weight to fall within the band of my ideal weight. I estimate my rate of weight loss need to be about 1lb per week, and I am ahead of that yipeee!!!. From my weight chart (which I will share with you in a future blog) I should be 204.2lb however, I am currently 202.4lb as at this morning.
Though I am somewhat ahead of the game as I start to build muscles it will become a tight balancing act to lose fat and gain muscles at the same time. As I am not following anyone's fitness routine, I will be learning as I go along. If it get too tough then I will follow a prescribed fitness and diet routine. But, for now the plan is simply doing more + GYM and eating less + a slight change in diet. I also try to drink lots of water.
Not sure how I am going to fare over the Christmas break but I am going to give it a fair old go.
By the way it is getting somewhat difficult though I expected it to get easier by now, but my plan is to stick with it. I really do value your feedback and words of encouragement.

SO HERE IS THE DILEMMA.

When I joined the GYM I was given a rucksack, A water bottle, A flannel and a padlock as part of the new members pack.
All was fine for a few months, Then one day after getting changed I left the Padlock in the locker with the key and walked out the changing room. When I got home I realised my Blunder.
So, Next day I went in the GYM I asked at the reception, " Has anyone handed in a padlock please ?", The answer came back "No, Sir but if you need one it will cost you £2.50."
This was almost a year ago. Anyway yesterday I went into the empty changing room after a good workout, and guess what was lying in the locker complete with Key? You got it, a Padlock. I thought to myself Yes Karma! Now this Padlock was GYM standard issue just like the one I was given but it was certainly not mine!
What do you think I did, or what would you do?
