Well as the Idiom goes ‘Do you see the Glass half full or do you see it half empty?’ I’m definitely a ‘glass half full man’ optimistic if you please, as Mrs McNabb will tell you I’m forever attempting to see the brighter side of stuff in every situation. Even when it’s dead or near dead, my mental attitude is, ‘any moment now there is gonna be a resurrection.’
So Halfway there; about one month ago after being somewhat addicted to facebook for all the wrong unproductive reasons, I decided to leave for two months (but putting in an appearance on Nov. 30th for one day) so I’ll be fully back 1st January 2012.
People I love facebook and I believe that can be a force for good, here are a few positives:
- I’ve hooked up with people I’ve lost touch with for years …. YEARS.
- Received many inspiring words/Encouragements and LOL Jokes by way of friends encouragements and status.
- Breaking news and events.
Also being an active Broadcaster, facebook it is an invaluable tool, and leaving facebook for good, would be like throwing out the baby with the bath water; so surely the challenge for me then become to manage my activity/usage.
So you can imagine how difficult it is/was for me to make the break (2 Months). In the first week I was literally shaking / twitching (Not exaggerating so, don’t laugh) but I’ve managed to replace it over the next few weeks with more fulfilling pursuits.
So it may not seem much or a big deal to some, but my halfway there is definitely a ‘half full’ glass moment for me and I’ve learned so much about me in the past month. For me it is a massive achievement, taking on this goliath and the great news is though I’m only halfway there, I’m winning …..
How will I measure victory ……… well by sticking it out till 2012, See you in January.
