BREAKING THE STATU QUO

Recently my family and I were on a twenty mile car trip, and without getting too graphic, but about ten miles into the journey one of the occupants in the car (who will remain nameless) uttered out pardon me, a giggle then ensued and immediately we knew that we had to wind down all four windows. It was quite cold outside and so we had to wind the windows back up and as we continued on our journey acclimatized ourselves to the smell.

Fifteen minutes later, the incident now long forgotten we were almost home, I remembered I had a letter in the car to post which was in my glove box, so I duly pulled over to a pillar-box, and asked my daughter to pop the letter in the post box which she did. On returning to the car (which she was quite comfortable in just one minutes ago) she uttered out poo it stink in here; To which us the remaining occupants of the car replied 'STOP BEING SILLY IT'S COLD OUTSIDE, JUST GET BACK IN THE CAR, We can't smell anything'.
This is one of life's great tragedy we make ourselves comfortable in unbearable situations and then make it the new norm. So much so that when the real deal come along it is quite alien to us, and we often reject it because we get too comfortable in our own filth.

I do not suggest that you attempt this experiment, but, it is often been said that if you were to throw a live frog in a pan of hot water it would jump right out; However, if you were to put that same frog in a pan of cool water and gradually heat up the water you could actually boil the frog to death. Awful thought I know, but that's what most people do from day to day; we work ourselves into an unnatural position then get accept it as the norm, while every ounce of creativity, ambition, love for God and ultimately life get squeezed out of us.

So what is the next step :-

1- Recognition : Assess your current situation daily, whether it is your spiritual life, a target which you've set yourself sometime ago
( Ask the question 'Am I boiling myself to death?)

2 - Change : It's really up to you to take definite steps to break the deadlock

--- Oh and by the way Absolutely no frogs were harmed for the purposes of this blog.--- ;)

Stay Blessed
